VoIP technology is rapidly adopted by more enterprises with converged voice and data office network. In such environment, demands for mobile communication have been naturally increasing and many IT managers believe that wireless LAN is the best solu tion in that it is standard-based and provides the best cost performance.

Clipcomm's wireless IP phone, CWP-100, is a Wi-Fi portable terminal with handy and sleek design. Leveraging Clipcomm's field-proven VoIP and wireless technology, CWP-100 is compatible with IEEE 802.11b standard and interoperable with major SIP/H.323 call servers, IP-PBXs and various terminals. The CWP-100 is very easy to use and efficiently managed thanks to its integrated provisioning system that has been applied and proven by Clipcomm's field-deployed VoIP CPEs.

Together with VoIP/PSTN dual mode IP Phone with lifeline function, residential FXS/FXO gateways and embedded IP-PBX for SMEs, CWP-100 completes Clipcomm's VoIP solution lineup and can be an attractive alternative to ITSPs and IP-PBX solution providers.

Furthermore, as a VoIP terminal, CWP-100 offers many essential features such as easy-to-use auto-provisioning, dynamic jitter buffer and firewall/NAT traversal.

The CWP-100 can handle both SIP v2 (RFC 3261) and H.323 v4 protocol suites. When a customer requires other VoIP standards or application specific modifications, the CWP-100 can be easily customized by field-upgrading its firmware according to the customer's request.

The CWP-100 supports IEEE 802.11b standard and interoperates with legacy 802.11b or 802.11g wireless access points. As long as it is within the access points' range, users can make or receive VoIP phone calls.

For VoIP terminals in office network, usage of private IP address is very common and thus the issue of NAT traversal is one of the most important factors in determining whether or not the VoIP solution can be introduced today. All the Clipcomm's VoIP CPEs including the CWP-100 solve the infamous NAT traversal problems by its integrated features communicating with external STUN/TURN servers.

Longer period of talk and standby time is essential for any battery-powered voice terminals. By power management scheme optimized to its platform as well as the standard IEEE 802.11b power saving mechanism and highly optimized DSP software, Clipcomm's CWP-100 has industry leading performance for power consumption which makes the CWP-100 available whenever it is needed.

CWP-100's integrated dynamic jitter buffering mechanism as well as the enhanced QoS functions such as DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point), IP ToS (Type of Service) and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging provides users with continuous and well-managed voice quality in rapidly varying wireless office network.
